Travel Ireland Coaches specialises in luxury coach hire and tours. We are committed to providing a reliable service to our customers, whilst supplying a comfortable and unforgettable journey. Customer service is our top priority and we ensure that our drivers are trained daily and have a maintenance team on site to keep our vehicles in the best condition.
Due to growth and an increase in workload of the transport department, we are looking for a mechanic/PSV engineer to support our team of technicians.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the on-going repair and maintenance to a large fleet of vehicles.
Requirements for Mechanic
Proven experience in an HGV Mechanic/Technician role
City & Guilds accreditation or equivalent (preferred but not essential)
Driving licence
Duties of the Mechanic include:
Undertaking Vehicle maintenance, servicing and running repairs on a varied fleet (including M.O.T preparation).
Ensure all repairs to company vehicles are carried out safe & timely, according to the highest standards.
Ensure company vehicles are maintained in accordance with the company guidelines.
Have an ability to work to the highest Health & Safety standards.
Prep & Presentation for VOSA tests - Preventative Maintenance.
Assist in the fault diagnostics process, including all associated paperwork, reports and admin.
Assist with roadside breakdowns (when required).
Ensure that garage facilities, equipment and tools are kept clean, tidy and maintained.
Wear Personal Protective Equipment when appropriate.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1-year post apprenticeship experience and hold a City & Guilds or equivalent (time served engineers without these qualifications will also be considered).
There will be on-going training and career development opportunities for the right candidate.
Candidates that hold PSV License will be prioritised however this is not an essential requirement for the role.
