What you\'ll do:

  • Reporting to the Head of Group Media Relations, as part of a busy, high profile media relations team, you\'ll play a vital role in promoting and protecting the reputation of Nat West
  • You\'ll provide first class strategic advice on challenging reputational issues, supporting senior leaders across the Bank
  • You\'ll plan and deliver integrated media campaigns, building strong working relationships with a wide range of journalists and leading on set piece events in the financial calendar.
Day to day, you\xe2\x80\x99ll be:
  • Managing complex reputational issues and supporting senior leaders in their media engagement
  • Preparing high quality briefings and collateral which allow our spokespeople to communicate confidently and consistently with external stakeholders
  • Developing and executing strategic campaigns to build support and advocacy for the bank, including at Quarterly Results and the AGM
  • Collaborating across the Communications function and working with different business areas, to identify opportunities for proactive stories that help bring the bank strategy to life
  • Building an extensive network of contacts at senior levels within business and banking media
  • Placing measurement at the heart of your work to continuously improve outcomes and future planning.

The skills you\'ll need:

We\xe2\x80\x99re looking for a skilled communicator who can influence at senior levels. With experience in a similar role, you\xe2\x80\x99ll be able to demonstrate how you\xe2\x80\x99ve planned and delivered strategic campaigns to generate impactful media coverage, underpinned by robust measurement. You will be a proactive and organised team player, able to prioritise your work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, you\xe2\x80\x99ll need:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience of organising high profile events as well as integrating social, digital and non-traditional media into the delivery of your work
  • Proven track record of building a comprehensive network of senior media contacts across a range of outlets
  • A strong grasp of political and economic issues
