The School
The London School of Film, Media and Design at the University of West London houses state-of-the-art media production facilities, including a fully equipped TV studio and control room and a resources facility- the 'Distribution Room' These spaces support hands-on learning and professional-grade production workflows. The control room features advanced equipment such as lighting desks, vision mixers, Blackmagic recording systems, Hyper Deck units for recording and playback, sound mixers, and live streaming patch bays--enabling students and staff to engage in high-quality media creation and broadcast operations.
The Role
Join our dynamic team at the University of West London's London School of Film, Media and Design. where we offer state-of-the-art media production facilities. We're looking for atechnically skilled and proactive individual to support the operation of our professional TV and film studio and Distribution room facility.
The role of
Media Technical Resources Coordinator
is key in the management of our technical resources and facilities inventory withing the distribution room. The successful candidate will ensure the smooth running of the school's distribution room and resource booking system, providing essential operational support to students and staff across a wide range of media production courses.
This is an exciting opportunity for a technically minded and well-organised individual to join a vibrant creative school, supporting the next generation of filmmakers, media producers, and designers.
This position is a 1 year fixed term contract.
The Individual
We are looking for a technically proficient and adaptable individual with a strong background in supporting media production.
You will have:
A degree (BA/BSc Hons) or equivalent professional experience in a relevant subject area.
Experience in managing the inventory and technical equipment, ideally within a higher education or creative industries setting, and be confident in handling a wide range of media production technologies.
Possess strong organisational skills and attention to detail are essential, along with the ability to prioritise workloads and maintain accurate records.
Experience with using and maintaining equipment booking systems, and bring a proactive, problem-solving approach to the role.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as you will work closely with students, academic staff, and technical colleagues on a daily basis.
A strong commitment to health and safety, and providing a high-quality user experience, is essential.
Experience servicing and maintaining technical facilities and equipment.
Strong interpersonal skills, with a supportive and approachable manner when working with students and staff.
Proven ability to work collaboratively with academic colleagues in a creative and technical environment.
