Job Description

Main Street Medical Centre is a busy GP Practice located in the heart of Bridgeton serving a list size of approximately 8,900 patients. Our team is complimented by a skilled Administrative function who are fully trained in patient signposting and care navigation. Our Medical Administrators all have an important role in supporting patients to access the right care, with the right clinician, at the right time.

We have an opening for two enthusiastic individuals who can provide exceptional customer service and who enjoy working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, work pro-actively and are not afraid to use their initiative

We expect the successful candidates to effectively support the practice in delivering a quality service to patients and service users as well as the wider practice team. The candidates should be proficient in IT and be able to work as part of our established team, as well as working independently and being able to use initiative in a busy and fast paced environment.

The individuals will be responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception and administrative duties including greeting and directing patients, arranging appointments and processing prescription requests, handling confidential medical records and clinical correspondence, answering telephone calls from patients and service users, signposting patients to appropriate healthcare channels, filing medical notes and data entry, adding medical codes to patient medical records, registering new patients, audio typing and general administrative duties. It is imperative that the candidate maintains confidentiality at all times when performing these tasks and operating in line with Data Protection and GDPR regulations and Caldicott principles.

These roles are part-time positions each 25 hours per week with start and finish times as follows: AM 08:30 - 13:30; PM 13:00 - 18:00 . Preference would be for the two to rotate with early start one week and late start the following, to offer some work/life balance, however consideration will be given to candidates who would like a 'fixed' shift. There will be a requirement to cover our late opening to 18:30 on a rota basis with the rest of the team.
