A medical facility is seeking a Medical Assistant/Receptionist serves as a front-line point of contact to patients, prospective patients, and visitors. You will provide excellent service to patients in person and via phone, high quality and compassionate health care to the patients, and be an integral part of the health care team. You will work Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Lyndhurst and Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Westlake.

Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and greet all patients and visitors, answer the phone and keep the reception area clean and organized
  • Register new patients and update existing patient demographics, facilitates patient flow, and communicate with patients and clinical staff
  • Respond to inquiries by patients, prospective patients, and visitors, protect patient confidentiality, verify and collect any co-payment/co-insurance amount from patient
  • Responsible to call patients and confirm appointment time as well as follow up with no show appointments and attempt to reschedule appointment
  • Ensure patient information packet is updated, scan and update most recent patient ID and insurance card, notify the supervisor of any issues or concerns from patients, prospective patients, or visitors
  • Pull and prepare charts for upcoming clinic, take thorough and accurate messages to forward to clinical staff in a timely manner
  • Perform and document vital signs, EKGs, and other testing, notify the providers of any abnormalities, and perform wound care
  • Obtain and document pertinent medical information in the patients\' chart, schedule appointments for patients, communicate with outside medical partners, vendors, patients and staff
  • Clean and prepare exam rooms for patients, orders clinical and office supplies, and perform other duties as needed
Qualifications:
  • Must have previous Medical Assistant experience; Perform vital signs, EKGs, other tests, and wound care
  • Must have knowledge of medical terminology
  • Must have the ability to provide excellent service, high quality, and compassionate health care to patients
  • Must exemplify the core values and mission of the Clinic, always exercise utmost discretion, diplomacy, and tact in patient interactions
  • Must be able to comprehend established office routines and policies and keep reception area and exam rooms clean and organized
  • Must be computer literate with accurate data entry skills
  • Must maintain a polite and consistent phone manner using proper telephone etiquette
  • Must have excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • Must have reliable transportation
