Kings House Surgery is a single-handed GP Practice in Denbighshire, covering two sites situated in Rhyl and Dyserth. A full UK driving license is essential, as this position is split between both sites.
We are a small, friendly and close-knit team, in need of a competent and reliable individual to help manage the busy secretary workload.
Experience of EMIS WEB Software or similar is preferred, however the desire to learn and ability to adapt quickly are just as important.
We are looking for an experienced typist to provide confidential audio-typing and administrative support to the Practice.
Main duties of the job
The Medical Audio Typist will provide a comprehensive and confidential service across a range of clinical specialities.
The post holder will demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills liaising with patients, relatives, carers, Consultants & colleagues within the organisation and external partners.
Job responsibilities
Use advanced keyboard skills and medical terminology, to audio type and process clinical letters, discharge summaries, medical or legal reports and correspondence to patients GPs, other NHS departments and outside agencies.
Follow-up on verbal instructions given either by dictation, e-mail, telephone or face to face.
Use patient information systems and clinical information systems fluently adhering to IT security processes.
Use the scanning & email process proficiently, always adhering to the Data Protection Act / GDPR and in-line with the policy in accordance with confidentiality.
Deal sensitively with patients/relatives presenting with a query or complaint and have the ability to defuse informal complaints and, depending on the enquiry, reassure patients, and where necessary seek advice whilst accurately recording the time, date and nature of the call.
