About the role:


An exciting Bank opportunity has arisen for an experienced Medical Laboratory Assistant in our Laboratory at the Cleveland Clinic in central London. The successful candidate will mainly participate in the weekend rota, including weekend day and weekend night shifts. Full training will be provided in-house and the candidate will join the rota on completion of training and all relevant competency assessments.

This strategically located laboratory is located a few minutes' walk from Victoria station and is surrounded by a host of London's land marks and close to many exciting bars, restaurants and shopping areas.

The laboratory is based within Cleveland Clinic, a prestigious American private hospital that is the first of its kind within the UK. The services offered are still expanding, having been open for almost 3 years now, and there are regular advancements of clinical procedures and equipment. The hospital has 28 ITU beds 8 Theatres plus Cath Labs/ Interventional Radiology and Endoscopy, serving both inpatients and outpatients.

The successful candidate will participate in the routine processing of all pathology (Haematology, Biochemistry, Transfusion, MRSA and COVID PCR) specimens, alongside a BMS at all times to ensure a smooth workflow. It is vital that for each sample the appropriate requested investigations are performed in a timely manner and to ensure that specialised and urgent specimens are appropriately dealt with.

Being part of the TDL regional labs group, staff are supported by and contribute to the other TDL regional labs functions in sharing input into troubleshooting, training, peer auditing, presenting training sessions and supporting company projects.
