About us

Established in 2005, RIC provides a reproductive immunology testing service for clinicians and other laboratories in the UK. We are the only laboratory in the UK that provides these tests in the field of infertility. Our tests are performed by registered scientists with expertise in both flow cytometry and cell culture techniques. We pride ourselves on our fast and efficient service. We believe that a better understanding of the role of the immune system in pregnancy is vital and to that end we are actively involved in research and development to ensure that the tests we offer are useful to both clinicians and patients.

The Reproductive Immunology Centre aims to provide a fast and efficient assay service of the highest quality for all its clients and to promote ethical research and development in the field of diagnostic reproductive immunology.

RIC was founded through collaboration between a Consultant Immunologist, a fertility specialist and scientists with an interest and experience in immunological testing, ensuring we can provide a comprehensive and reliable service.

Job overview

The post holder will act as a Medical Laboratory Assistant providing scientific support and to perform a range of technical and scientific activities.

Concentration and attention to detail are essential to duties performed. The post holder will assist senior scientist co-workers in the provision of a high quality service.

Essential criteria

Science degree Must be numerate and literate with good command of spoken and written English Experience of working as a member of a team Ability to perform technical analysis Competent in the use of basic laboratory equipment Basic keyboard skills Accuracy and attention to detail Competent and polite manner Use own initiative when occasion arises and work part of a team
