St Mary's Surgery is looking to recruit a

friendly and compassionate Medical Receptionist

to join our small and welcoming team in Timsbury. This opportunity has arisen following a recent review of our staff structure, and we are excited to welcome a new team member who shares our commitment to providing excellent patient care.

Duties and responsibilities:



Open Surgery in morning Make tea/coffee where necessary Check patients into surgery and send into Doctors and/or Practice Nurse when requested to do so. Answer the telephone. Make telephoned and personal surgery bookings and cancellations using the computerised appointment system. Take and record messages for Doctors and community staff enquiries about test results, general queries and action if necessary To record, retrieve and access data on computer system Deal with 'Action basket' on a daily basis Pull out files for surgeries and clinics when requested Print summary sheets for home visits Filling of new medical records. Filing of reports, results and correspondence when necessary Offer verbal and written information to prospective patients. Handing out medication/prescriptions Taking prescription money/other fees and recording accurately in the cash register Register new patients on the computer system when necessary Deal with emergency calls for Doctors, and bleep/call when necessary Make telephone calls as requested by Doctors/Practice Manager/Practice Sister Tidy waiting room after clinics a surgeries etc Check that all consulting rooms are locked after morning and evening surgery. Set recorded message, alarm system and lock up after evening surgery.
To undertake any other reasonable duties which may be assigned by the Practice Manager or the partners.

All our roles at the surgery involve working with vulnerable children, young adults and adults and we therefore take up references prior to employment. You should provide details of including your current and previous employer.

Your employment at the surgery will be on the basis of a successful interview and x 2 satisfactory references and a satisfactory DBS check.

Please note that providing false information is an offence and could result in your application being rejected or your dismissal from employment if you are appointed. The matter may also be referred to the police.

We require the successful candidate to work the following hours:

Monday: 13:00pm - 18:15pm

Tuesday: 07:45am - 13:00pm

Thursday: 13:00pm - 18:00pm.

You will also be required to cover additional shifts during holiday periods and sickness.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 12.21-12.60 per hour

Expected hours: 15.5 per week
