We are looking for part-time medical receptionist to join our busy practice.
The successful candidate will need to provide first-class level of admin / reception / customer service to our patients. You should enjoy working in a call centre, reception environment, building relationships with patients and staff, and be prepared to go the extra mile for our patients. The role is demanding but rewarding as we are a very busy GP practice serving over 11000 patients, hence we are looking for someone who is confident, has excellent communication skills, time management skills and is proficient at multi-tasking.
The role requires confidence in patient administration systems EMIS , Docman, Microsoft Office and should have a general knowledge of IT. The successful candidate will represent the practice at the front desk and will be the first point of contact for our patients. You will deal with patient queries by phone, email and in person and also undertake other non-clinical duties and responsibilities of an administrative nature to include scanning of clinical correspondence, calling of patients for reviews and referrals to secondary care as required.
Responsibilities and Duties
Opening the office in the morning and performing the daily routines
Email check and answering back, if it is needed
Answering the incoming calls for bookings and enquiries
Front desk, first point of contact to greet patients and deal with enquiries
Following up the tests results and arranging follow ups as appropriate
Calling patients for review of their long-term conditions and screenings
Producing prescriptions and reports for patients
Providing general administrative support to clinicians and the practice team
Process new patient registrations and promote EMIS Online Access
Checking QOF - Outstanding Items - Booking Appointments
Being a chaperone for a GP when required.
The needs of the service are paramount and thus other ad hoc tasks may be required at times, to ensure business continuity.
Any other tasks or post appropriate to your grade/post.
Participating in regular staff training sessions, maintain all mandatory training
Attend regular staff meetings and contribute to organisational objectives
. Closing the office in the evening and performing the daily routines
Be aware and abide by all Information Governance in respect of data protection and confidentiality
Qualifications and Skills
Receptionist experience, ideally in a GP practice or similar health setting essential
Excellent communication skills
A team player with a proven track record
Excellent IT skills - Word, Excel and NHS clinical systems EMIS Web/Docman essential
A genuine interest in working within a caring environment
A friendly and caring approach
Someone who believes in providing the highest standards of care to patients
