Tower Family Healthcare is looking for enthusiastic and reliable Medical Receptionists to join our experienced and friendly team. We have several part-time positions available across three of our sites, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work in a supportive, patient-focused environment.
Key Details:
Part-time roles: 20 to 30 hours per week
Positions available across multiple sites
Shift patterns will fall between Monday to Friday, between the hours of 8:00am and 6:30pm.
While we do have specific gaps in our current rota that need to be covered, we are happy to offer flexibility and will aim to accommodate the availability of suitable candidates.
We are a GP Practice with a multi skilled clinical team that works across four sites across Bury (in Bury town centre, Greenmount, Tottington and Radcliffe).
You will support patients getting in touch by phone and in person at reception, using your care navigation skills to reach the best outcome to meet their needs. Variety is important in any role, and there will be opportunities to get involved in a range of administrative tasks across the working week.
Full training will be provided to ensure you can thrive in the role.

The receptionist/admin role at Tower Family Healthcare requires enthusiastic, friendly, positive, professional individuals who enjoy working as part of a team and strive to deliver a high standard of service to patients and public in an efficient, effective, courteous and confidential manner. The role is also to provide support to the clinicians (both doctors and nurses) and wider team, to meet the requirements of the practice

To receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way either in person, face to face or via the telephone, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
Scheduling & cancelling appointmentsusing the Emis system
Reception desk duties. Maintaining a friendly, professional and courteous manner
Answering the telephone in a professional and friendly manner.
Ensuring a positive outcome for our patients.
Accurate message taking and conveying to appropriate person.
Filing and accurate record keeping with attention to detail
Following practice policies and office procedures; copy notes, printing GPR, ECG watch, OMRON (Blood Pressure monitors), annual recalls/reviews, healthchecks, flu recalls, child immunisation appointments
Completing work as per start and end of day checklists
Referral management and liaising with providers
Liaising with other agencies where appropriate such as; local pharmacies, district nurses, midwives, health visitors, care homes, ambulance control, hospitals etc
Notes summarising & read coding
Computer entry as related to patient services and registrations
Use of administration systems and understanding of TQuest
Carrying out duties requested by the GP partners, Senior Manager and practice team as appropriate to the role.
Escalating problems to the branch manager where necessary
Any additional duties as required to ensure the smooth running of the practice Job description
