Job Overview


We're looking to hire someone with fantastic customer service/patient handling skills, and strong computing ability to work as part of our reception team at Marshside Surgery. The successful applicant will be expected to provide flexible sickness and holiday cover where needed. Full training will be provided when starting in the position.

The purpose of the role is to:



Offer general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone at all times.

Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.

Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice including the provision of secretarial and clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the practice team.

Facilitate effective communication between patients, members of the primary health care team, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies.

About us



The Marshside surgery is a small practice located in the northern part of Southport, on the Marshside industrial estate. We have a sole GP partner who leads the clinical team, a salaried GP, a regular locum GP, an advanced nurse practitioner, a practice nurse, a HCA and a GP assistant. Our list is made up of roughly 3,200 patients and we're a part of the Southport and Formby primary care network.

The surgery is on a local bus route, and there is plenty of on-site parking.

Opening up/locking-up of practice premises and maintaining security in accordance with Practice protocols Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointments system Processing personal and telephone requests for appointments, visits and telephone consultations and ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate healthcare professional/service Processing and distributing incoming (and outgoing) mail Taking messages and passing on information Filing and retrieving paperwork Processing repeat prescriptions in accordance with practice guidelines Computer data entry/data allocation and collation; processing and recording information in accordance with practice procedures Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, other team members and associated healthcare agencies and providers Scanning/Coding & Filing clinical documents Assisting with referrals Registrations of patients Record management Summarising Keeping the reception area, notice-boards and leaflet dispensers tidy and free from obstructions and clutter
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 12.35-12.50 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week

Schedule:

Monday to Friday
Work Location: In person
