Carisbrooke Surgery has an exciting opportunity for a part time receptionist to join our friendly GP practice team for 33 hrs per week - a job share for this position will also be considered (please indicate on your application).

We are a busy training practice delivering care to over 8500 patients at our new modern, air conditioned, purpose-built premises in St Leonards-on-Sea.

Main duties of the job
Your role as a Medical Receptionist/Administrator in our team will require you to be the face of the practice. You will work in a fast-paced environment manning the reception desk, answering the telephones, processing prescriptions, dealing with queries or carrying out administrative tasks.
Key responsibilities include:
Manage patient appointments (booking with clinicians and patient arrival)
Answering/forwarding incoming calls
Dealing with patient queries
Dealing with payments from patients
Processing prescriptions and dealing with prescription queries
Being aware of protocols and policies
Handling and answering enquiries accurately and completely without breaching patient confidentiality or making medical judgements
Registering new patients
Filing and scanning post in medical records
Email and photocopy as requested
Keep reception areas clean and tidy
There may be occasions when you will be required to cover staff holidays or sickness.
Overview of your organisation
The practice team consists of 4 partners, 2 salaried GP's, 2 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, 4 Practice Nurses, Nursing Associate, Health Care Assistant, clinical pharmacist, pharmacy technician and inhouse physiotherapy/podiatry services. We also have a non-clinical team of 20 which includes managers, receptionists, administrators and secretaries.
