We are seeking a motivated and professional Receptionist to join our busy GP Practice. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for our patients and play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of our reception and administrative services.
You will be responsible for providing an efficient and friendly service to patients, managing appointments, and supporting the clinical team. This is a busy but rewarding role within primary care, requiring excellent communication skills, strong organisational abilities, and a commitment to patient confidentiality.
Main Duties of the Job
Provide a professional, courteous reception service to patients, carers, and visitors
Manage incoming calls, appointment bookings, and patient enquiries in line with practice protocols
Register new patients and update patient records accurately on the clinical system
Process repeat prescription requests
Provide administrative support to the practice team as required
Handle sensitive information in line with confidentiality and data protection policies
Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure an efficient and effective service
About You
Previous experience in a reception, administrative, or customer service role is desirable
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong IT skills; experience of using clinical systems is advantageous but training will be provided
Ability to work under pressure and manage competing demands
Professional, approachable, and committed to providing a high standard of service
Flexible and willing to provide cover for colleagues where required
