We're looking for an experienced and proactive
Medical Records and Subject Access Request (SAR) Lead
to manage the day-to-day operations of our Medical Records department. You'll also lead the delivery of our Subject Access Request service, ensuring legal compliance and a timely, professional service for patients, staff and external stakeholders.
This role is essential in supporting clinical teams across the hospital and satellite sites by ensuring medical records are handled with the highest standards of accuracy, security, and professionalism. Key Responsibilities
Line manage the Medical Records Team, including daily task allocation, rota and leave coordination.
Act as the main point of contact for all operational aspects of the medical records function.
Oversee the creation, tracking and distribution of medical records across all hospital services.
Manage all SARs from patients, solicitors and external parties via the Information Governance inbox.
Ensure all requests are processed in line with GDPR and within legal timeframes.
Collaborate with the Governance team and Medical Secretaries to validate and approve disclosures.
What You'll Bring
Essential Experience & Skills
Have a good standard of general education (including English and Maths, Grade or above)
Have proven experience in a similar medical records or health administration role
Have excellent organisational and team leadership skills
Have strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel
Have an understanding of GDPR and data protection responsibilities
Desirable
Have further IT or management training.
Be familiar with medical terminology
