Full Time, 37.5 hours per week

Salary


From 24,500 per year, dependent on experience
Additional payments provided for weekend on call duties, plus two rest days during the week when the weekend on call is completed

Role Overview



We are recruiting a Medication and Field Auditor to support our service in maintaining high standards of safety, compliance and quality across all medication and field based activity. This role involves auditing medication processes, working closely with carers in the community, and ensuring best practice is consistently followed.

You will need confidence in medication procedures, strong organisational skills and the ability to communicate clearly with staff, professionals and the people we support. This position is key to ensuring that safe systems and high quality support are in place at all times.

Key Responsibilities



Medication Compliance and Auditing



Complete planned and unplanned audits of medication records Maintain accurate medication administration records, ensuring all changes are documented Carry out field medication spot checks Complete medication risk assessments and reviews Ensure medication is ready and available on hospital discharge Order medication from GP surgeries and mental health teams Collect medication from pharmacies when required Deliver medication to individuals we support where commissioned, around 10 clients Ensure compliance with CQC, Wigan Council and internal medication procedures Provide clear guidance to staff on medication best practice

Field Based Responsibilities



Complete field visits to monitor practice and provide support Help carers with medication procedures and any issues identified during visits Record findings and contribute to quality monitoring and improvement plans Work closely with management regarding any concerns or areas requiring further support

Professional Liaison



Maintain professional working relationships with social workers, GP practices, mental health professionals, nurses, hospital discharge teams, speech and language therapy, pharmacies and Wigan Council compliance teams Communicate effectively with families, carers and the people we support Follow correct escalation procedures when concerns arise

Experience and Requirements



Minimum

1 year

experience in health and social care Medication experience is required Strong understanding of medication processes and best practice Good organisational and record keeping skills Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload Confident communicator with external professionals Full UK driving licence and access to own transport

Example Shift Patterns



Week 1
Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm

Week 2
Monday to Friday, 7am to 3pm

Week 3
Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
Saturday and Sunday, 9am to 4pm

Week 4
Monday to Friday, 11am to 7pm

On Call



Two weekday on call duties per month Weekend on call is shared across three office employees Additional payment plus two rest days are provided during the week after completing a weekend on call
