We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medicines Counter Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional service to our patients while assisting with medication administration and ensuring the smooth operation of the counter. Working with the team you will be constructive in promoting both NHS and private services to our customers. This position requires a strong commitment to patients care and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Experience in a Community Pharmacy or a customer service environment an advantage however not a necessity as training will be given. Opportunities for progression are available.
Duties
Greet and assist customers at the pharmacy counter with their enquiries and purchases
Manage stock levels, organise shelves, and ensure medication storage standards are maintained. Collaborate with dispensary staff and other healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care
Provide information on over-the-counter products and health-related advice within scope of practice
Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate records of sales and inventory
Maintain accurate records of transactions and patient interactions in accordance with data protection policies
Address any patient concerns or issues promptly, ensuring a positive experience for all customers
Stay informed about new medications, products, and services offered by the pharmacy
Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of the counter area to uphold health and safety standards
Qualifications
Previous experience in a pharmacy environment or customer service role is highly desirable but not essential.
A background in patient care or customer service will be beneficial for this role
Excellent communication skills with a friendly, professional manner
Organised, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple tasks efficiently
Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Basic IT skills for managing electronic records and prescription systems
Candidates will be required to cover some Saturday mornings
