Job description
I am pleased to announce an exciting opportunity to take on the role of Field MEICA (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, Automation) Team Leader for Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire (LNA).


You will ensure that the team has the correct resources, skills, and operational capabilities to fulfil our day-to-day maintenance activities, in a safe, cost effective and efficient manner. You will also provide effective and professional incident response to potential flood events across our key assets.

You will oversee a programme of maintenance works, ensuring on time delivery and to a high standard, working alongside several departments.

You'll work with the Operations Manager to understand the corporate strategies and priorities to set the teams objectives and develop the work programme.

You'll also be working with external partners, suppliers, and landowners to help deliver the intermittent maintenance program.

Your strong leadership will maintain a high standard of professional behaviour within the team, ensuring successful delivery of critical work which protect people and property from the impacts of climate change.

The team
You'll lead a small team of experienced engineers working across LNA on a variety of structures. These range from large flood storage reservoirs and tidal sluice gates to navigations locks and water transfer schemes.

You'll work closely with SUPRA Area MECIA team who will provide guidance, supporting you within your role.

You'll also be a part of the Welland and Nene Operations Leadership team supporting the Operations Manager to provide leadership across the whole department.
Experience/skills required
Experience / knowledge of maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems is required.

You will be able to demonstrate:

A good understanding of Health & Safety legislation, risk management procedures and practices including CDM.

You'll need to be able to motivate and inspire your team, demonstrate excellent communication and networking skills with an enthusiasm for innovation and continual improvement.

Coaching and mentoring skills to get the best out of people and have an active role in their development.

Ability to translate organisational outcomes into plans and programmes for frontline delivery.

Budget management capabilities.

Effective planning skills with the ability to prioritise and deliver results to tight deadlines.

Ability to take initiative, be flexible, solve problems and make decisions.

Excellent IT skills and experience of managing and interpreting data.

The role is based at one of the listed locations. We will accommodate some working from home but you'll be required to attend your base location on a regular basis.

A full UK driving licence is essential.
