The role is to manage the day-to-day running of Runner\'s World\'s membership programme, a key new revenue stream for the brand. Working with the brand and central teams, the Membership Editor will help grow and nurture the brand\'s members, organising and producing content (both bespoke and repurposed), coordinating internal and external contributors, dealing with members\' enquiries, editing the members\' newsletter, and promoting a consistent and authoritative tone of voice throughout all communications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To plan, commission and originate content for RW members.
  • To manage and respond to members\' day-to-day enquiries as required.
  • To manage relationships with the RW membership panel of experts, commission content from them, and organise webinars and or video shoots.
  • To generate ideas, discuss membership output and how this informs newsletter content.
  • To build the weekly membership newsletters and to write/create content as and where appropriate.
  • Build and publish content created by the brand\'s content team.
  • Management of the brand\'s membership social account(s).
  • Overseeing \'live\' membership events on the relevant social media platform(s) - ensuring they start properly, monitoring comments, taking time-stamping notes when required, and editing the display copy.
  • Attend shoots and running industry events on occasion to capture content for the membership sites and social media accounts.
  • Liaise with CRM team to support content team with relevant data.
  • Play a pivotal role in building a reputation for Hearst as a trailblazer in the membership space.
  • To be an ambassador of Hearst UK and its values.
ABOUT YOU:
  • A running enthusiast as well as a skilled and experienced content creator, the successful candidate will be familiar with the running industry and its trends.
  • A writer with experience of publishing/editing across multiple platforms, they will need to be adept at writing sharp, authoritative, knowledgeable, pithy and witty content, nailing the brand\'s tone in the process.
  • They will have a deep understanding of what kind of content will engage and delight RW members.
  • Digital editorial experience, with an understanding of SEO, analytics and content management systems.
  • A deep interest in and understanding of the sport and community of running, with an understanding of the audience of Runner\'s World.
  • An understanding of Runner\'s World\'s history, values and mission.
  • Experience of commissioning content is desirable.
  • A proven track record of producing newsletters and managing social accounts is desirable.
  • The candidate must be a pro-active, self-starting individual, able to motivate themselves on a daily basis, quick yet thorough, and willing to take the initiative in pressured situations
  • Experience of operating a CMS is essential - Selligent, in particular, is preferable.
  • Experience of using social content is desirable, as well as up-to-date knowledge of current and emerging social formats.
