Established in 2008, we are a small, fast-paced law firm based in South-East London. We are a Lexcel accredited practice with a strong legal aid franchise and a well-established reputation for stellar Family, Criminal, Immigration, Community Care, Court of Protection, and Mental Health Law work.

We are looking for a dedicated and capable Mental Health Law Paralegal / Caseworker to join our team.

The role mainly involves tribunal work under the Mental Health Act 1983 and offers the valuable opportunity to run your own caseload with support from an experienced team. While membership of the Mental Health Lawyers Association (MHLA) panel is desirable, it is not essential. We are happy to support panel accreditation and professional development for the right candidate.

The ideal candidate will:

Have 1-2 years' experience in Mental Health Law Be comfortable with the travel-based nature of the role, including regular visits to clients on mental health wards Thrive in a fast-paced environment and be able to manage competing deadlines with confidence Demonstrate excellent client care skills, including the ability to communicate with empathy, clarity, and professionalism Possess exceptional drafting skills Show a keen eye for detail and ensure high levels of compliance in file management and documentation Have strong organisational and time management skills Demonstrate strong IT proficiency, including the use of digital case management systems Be a member of the Mental Health Lawyers Association (MHLA). This is desirable but not essential. Support for panel membership can be provided for the right candidate
