Are you looking for a rewarding role supporting children and young people to thrive? We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Youth Mental Health Practitioner to join our team, working across the Bradford District.
The successful practitioner must be well organised and flexible with a commitment to providing effective therapeutic support to children, young people and their families - empowering them to make a difference in their lives, underpinned by Brathay's core values.
As one of our Mental Health Practitioners, you'll be responsible for providing emotional health and wellbeing support in locations across Bradford, conducting clinical assessments and
signposting to specialist support services.
To excel in this role, you'll have:
Education and Qualifications:
Essential:
Minimum diploma level 4 & minimum of 100 counselling hour of which some must include children and young people.
Access to a car & current and clean driving licence, for vehicle insurance purposes, ideally you should be at least 21 years of age and have held a full, driving licence for at least one year.
Safeguarding level 2 or above
Desirable:
Current First Aid Qualification.
Safeguarding Level 3 (or willingness to undertake).
BACP registration.
Skills and Experience:
Essential:
Substantial experience of working with children and young people who have mental health needs and vulnerabilities in a variety of contexts
Experience of managing a defined caseload using specialist knowledge and clinical reasoning to undertake assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of interventions for children and young people liaising with families, and referring agencies as appropriate
Experience of providing therapeutic interventions one to one or group work as appropriate
Proven ability and experience of acting as an advocate to facilitate the views and choices expressed by children, young people, families, groups and communities
