We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to provide essential care and assistance to individuals with diverse needs. This role involves working closely with children and adults, particularly those with autism or disabilities, to promote their well-being, independence, and development. Responsibilities
Provide personalised support to individuals with disabilities or special educational needs, fostering their independence and confidence.
Assist with daily activities such as personal care, mobility, and medication administration in accordance with care plans.
Implement behaviour management strategies, including applied behaviour analysis techniques where appropriate.
Support clients during outings, appointments, and recreational activities to promote social inclusion.
Maintain accurate records of care provided, behavioural observations, and progress notes in line with organisational policies.
Work collaboratively with families, healthcare professionals, and educational staff to ensure consistent support.
Promote a safe environment by adhering to health and safety guidelines and recognising potential risks.
Experience
Previous experience working with children or adults in a care setting is highly desirable.
Knowledge of applied behaviour analysis (ABA) techniques and their application in supporting individuals with autism.
Experience working with people with disabilities or special educational needs is advantageous.
Familiarity with medication administration procedures and patient care protocols is preferred.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships are essential.
A caring attitude coupled with organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
