Job Description

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Mental Health Support Worker to join the team at Derwentside IRC (Immigration Removal Centre), based just outside of Consett, County Durham.
You will join the Mental Health team of 10, delivering Trauma Informed Care for our patients, promoting choices around their care.
The team at Derwentside are a close knit team, who are very supportive and take pride in the work that they do!
Hours:
This is a part time role, 22.5 hours per week, usually between Monday and Friday. The team work between 8am and 6pm, with occasional weekend work.
We can be flexible on shift patterns and start / finish times.
Salary
This position is part time, you'll receive an annual salary of between Up to 28,690 FTE per annum depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
As our new Mental Health Support Worker, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:
  • Deliver Trauma Informed Care to patients
  • Create a safe physical and emotional environment for patients
  • Using a collaborative approach, promote choices over individual care, including medication, psychological support, engagement with other teams, activities etc
  • Motivate patients to make positive changes
  • Delivering outstanding care to patients, seeking out, listening to, and acting on their feedback - ensuring that their care is personalised and tailored to the individual
