Thomas Owen House is a home for people with mental health needs. If you have worked in a typical nursing home before, you might find that things are different here - you will be offering more emotional support to people. A good work ethic, a great sense of humor and being able to treat people as people - no matter what their needs are - are the main things we need. We can also support you in working towards your level 2 or 3 NVQ, or the care certificate. If you already have NVQs, there are other options for your continued professional development. There are lots of qualified staff to help you. You don't need experience in a care setting to apply - we're more interested in the excellent carer you can become rather than if you think you already know everything!

It's highly likely that one of our residents will be part of the interview process, with an equal say in who we recruit - if this sounds odd, the job probably isn't for you.

We will pay 12.21 an hour, we won't charge you for the DBS and there are free uniforms (not tunics, just polo shirts don't worry, we don't want you looking too institutional)

We're looking for day staff, but if you can be flexible let us know.
