We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to provide essential assistance and care to individuals with diverse needs. This role involves working closely with adults, including those with complex mental health needs and to promote their well-being, independence, and development. The successful candidate will be committed to delivering high-quality support in a respectful and nurturing manner, ensuring a positive impact on the lives of those they assist.
Responsibilities
Assist individuals with daily activities such as personal care, mobility, and medication administration in accordance with care plans
Support behavioural management strategies, including applied behaviour analysis techniques, to promote positive behaviours
Facilitate engagement in educational, recreational, and social activities tailored to individual needs
Monitor and document progress, behaviours, and any changes in health or wellbeing accurately
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement personalised support plans
Provide emotional support and encouragement to foster independence and confidence
Maintain a safe and clean environment, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times
Skills
Experience working with adults with mental health needs.
Knowledge of applied behaviour analysis (ABA) techniques and their application in behavioural support programmes
Prior experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental conditions is advantageous
Ability to administer medication safely following prescribed protocols
Strong patient care skills combined with empathy, patience, and excellent communication abilities
Organised approach to documentation and reporting of care activities
Flexibility to adapt support strategies based on individual requirements and changing circumstances
