Job Description

As a Health Care Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting nursing staff and ensuring the well-being of patients. Your responsibilities will include assisting with personal care, mobility support, and daily living activities while maintaining a compassionate and professional approach.

Key Responsibilities

Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, and toileting Assist with patient mobility, including repositioning and using mobility aids Support patients with meals and hydration needs Observe and report any changes in a patient's condition to nursing staff Maintain accurate records of patient care activities Follow infection control and health & safety procedures Engage in patient social activities to enhance their well-being Support patients with emotional and psychological needs Work collaboratively with nursing and multidisciplinary teams Adhere to confidentiality and safeguarding procedures

Requirements

Right to Work:

Valid UK work authorisation and visa (if applicable)

DBS Check:

Must have an Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one

Completed Immunisation Record:

Hepatitis B (All 3 doses required)

MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) 2 doses required

Varicella (Chickenpox) 2 doses required

TB (Tuberculosis) - Proof of BCG Scar or Test Result

Required Trainings:

BILD Certified PMVA Training- Face to Face

CSFT-Aligned 1-Day Physical Mandatory Training (including all required modules):

Infection Control - Can Be Completed Online

Food Hygiene (L2 or equivalent) - Can Be Completed Online

Fire Safety - Can Be Completed Online

Moving & Handling - Can Be Completed Online

Safeguarding Individual at Risk Level 1, 2, 3 - Level 1 & 2 to be completed online, Level 3 is online & classroom-based

Information Governance - Can Be Completed Online

Mental Health Act Awareness - Can Be Completed Online

Lone Worker - Can Be Completed Online

Ligature Awareness - Can Be Completed Online

Medicine Management - Can Be Completed Online

Oliver McGowan LD & Autism Training

Health & Safety - Can Be Completed Online

Equality & Diversity - Can Be Completed Online

Healthcare Support Worker Certificate (HCSW) - Can Be Completed Online

MCA / DoLs - Can Be Completed Online

Basic Life Support - Classroom Based Learning

Complaints & Conflict Management (Optional)
