Broadacres Housing Association is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Support Worker to join our team working across the Scarborough and Ryedale localities. As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will provide vital support and guidance to individuals living with mental health needs, helping them to achieve greater independence and improve their overall wellbeing.

This is a 4 Month Temporary contract.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one support to service users with mental health conditions, helping them to develop coping strategies, access appropriate services, and achieve their personal goals
Support service users in managing daily living tasks, such as budgeting, shopping, cooking, and maintaining a clean and safe living environment
Work collaboratively with other professionals, including mental health professionals, social workers, and healthcare providers, to ensure service users receive comprehensive and holistic care
Monitor and assess the mental health and wellbeing of service users, reporting any concerns or changes in condition to the appropriate authorities
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of support provided and outcomes achieved, in accordance with organisational policies and procedures
Provide emotional support and encouragement to service users, promoting self-esteem and empowerment
Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and supervision meetings to enhance your knowledge and skills as a Mental Health Support Worker
Our ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience working in a mental health support role
Knowledge of mental health conditions.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work empathetically and non-judgmentally with individuals experiencing mental health challenges
Excellent organisational and time-management skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality policies and procedures
Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care or equivalent
