Job Title - Mental Health Recovery Support Worker




Location - Walsall



Salary - 12.51 per hour



Working hours - 35 hours



Shift Patterns - Early`s- 7.30-15.30, Days- 9.00-17.00, Lates- 13.30-21.30




As full time Support worker you will be required to be available for these times.



Sleep-ins are paid additionally




About the role




Lonsdale House provides short-term accommodation and round-the-clock support for up to 15 adults with mental health needs. Our service aims to empower residents by helping them build essential skills for independent living within the community.


We offer a move-on model, supporting individuals as they transition from hospital care or prevent hospital admission through early intervention. This includes:


Step-down provision for individuals recently discharged from hospital


Step-up provision to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions


In addition, we provide:


Crisis accommodation for up to 7 days, offering a safe and supportive environment as an alternative to inpatient care


Rehabilitation accommodation for up to 2 years, focusing on recovery and independence


Our crisis beds are available to individuals with a primary diagnosis of mental ill health. This short-term support helps reduce disruption to people`s lives by providing care in a homely setting until the immediate crisis is resolved.


Located in a residential area of Walsall, Lonsdale House offers a calm, community-based environment for recovery and growth.


About you




Experience supporting individuals experiencing mental ill health.


Experience of administration of medication would be an advantage.


Have strong communication and listening skills, enabling you to support service users in a calm, empathetic and empowering way. Be patient, resilient, and able to remain emotionally grounded when supporting individuals experiencing distress or crisis.


Be comfortable working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing effectively to care planning, risk awareness, and recovery-focused support.


Understand the importance of professional boundaries, confidentiality, and safeguarding, and are confident in recording clear, accurate notes.


The ability to be a natural care giver and someone who can communicate in an open and honest manner with your colleagues, residents and their visitors.


Please note that if you are successful in this role, we will require an enhanced DBS check to be completed. We will provide this for you.
