To support the Deputy Care Operations Manager (DCOM) with the management and development of the team to provide high quality patient transitions.


We are looking for experienced, caring and committed Mental Health Transport Team Leaders with an engaging approach who are keen to enhance their skills within the Mental Health sector.

This is not just a driving job, it is about taking the patient on a journey from one setting to another with safety, care, respect, consideration and empathy to make that transition as smooth as it possibly can be. There may be times when trained techniques need to be used for the patients safety, either in a place of safety, a vehicle or other settings. The job satisfaction comes from knowing that you have played an integral part in their time of crisis.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Insist on all aspects of health & safety, monitoring standards on a daily basis to ensure compliance with legislation. Act as a role model for quality patient care, the Company values, competencies, policies and procedures on all occasions. Be a guardian of the Code of Conduct with the team. Monitor the standards of patient care for the team to nurture a learning culture and provide creative solutions to facilitate continual improvement. Assist with the recruitment, induction, development and retention of the team acting as a mentor for new team members. Act as a conduit for communication between teams and managers for effective engagement and disseminating business information. Motivate and demonstrate genuine care for the team through positive professional communication, proficient team meetings, teamworking and coaching. Support with the observation and identification of potential development areas within the team's performance and ensure they have the skill and desire to achieve their objectives and business goals alongside identifying and supporting with the management of poor performance for improvement. Manage the accurate implementation of electronic systems for capturing required data, review and resolve issues in a timely manner. Assist with the professional administration duties with the needs of the team when transitioning patients on duty. Take accountability for own continual professional development and reflective practice for learning. Achieve business KPI's, goals and objectives. Ensure all vehicle standards are maintained to the highest level achievable. Respond positively to change by supporting and delivering Company new initiatives. Supervise rotas effectively to optimise productivity and efficiency balancing the high standards of care for patients. Support the role of business development as required ensuring all opportunities are maximised through networking and relationship building with clients and partners. Ensure the integrity of the SCUK brand by maintaining high professional standards for the whole team at all times. Collaborate respectfully with Company departments to facilitate deployments, audits, checks and standard operating procedures for effective implementation and maintenance. Ensure all work activities for the teams are in line with legislation. Deputise for the DCOM in their absence. Any other reasonable duties as assigned.

BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE:



Valid Full UK Manual Driving License with minimum 12 months driving experience Excellent communication skills, including IT ability Ability to remain calm under pressure whilst delivering genuine care Demonstrate resilience Able to work as part of a team effectively Excellent attention to detail

Mental Health Transport Assistant Fulltime 42.1 hours contract- Worked on a 4 on 4 off rolling shift pattern, alternating between 4 days and 4 nights.


PLEASE NOTE:


Due to the nature of the Business and Client requirements, we reserve the right to change the working times with reasonable notice. At times flexibility will be needed due to the care provisions for patients which may result in over-runs or the need to reduce hours depending on work levels.


Remuneration from 1st May: This contract is paid at a blended rate of 13.51 p/h (Day, Night and Weekend Shifts). Annual Remuneration to start from 29,594.10 based on expected hours. This is to be discussed during the interview process.

Over-runs paid at 22p/h Enhanced pay of 1.20 extra per hour for work at a Mental Health 'place of safety' and bed watch activities, supporting ward staff. Shift pay enhancements are also available for some call-in or overtime shifts, additional 1.75p/h. Further information will be discussed during the interview process.
