All one-to-one Mentor sessions engage with a
diverse range of activities
, spanning leisurely walks to go-karting. These activities serve as tangible goals for our students, providing them with focus and motivation within the broader scope of our provision. We aim to cater to different interests and abilities, creating a
dynamic and engaging environment
for not only academic success, but also personal growth. In addition, Aspire Life offers a range of services, e.g. extra-curricular sports, in-school teaching assistance, birthday parties and holiday clubs.
JOB PURPOSE
To develop personalised plans for academic, emotional, and physical growth, tailored to the needs, interests and abilities of each child.
To support identified student needs (e.g. as detailed in EHCPs and Risk Assessments).
To plan, manage and deliver structured and engaging one-to-one mentoring sessions.
To encourage skills development, teamwork and good conduct.
To assist students with schoolwork or alternative learning (e.g. AQA courses).
To communicate with children, parents, carers and schools about planning, conduct, performance and progression.
To continually monitor and evaluate the progress of each child, adjusting support strategies as needed to optimise learning and development outcomes.
To complete relevant documentation and reporting, including but not limited to, session reports (known as ITPs), annual reports, risk assessments, expenses, timesheets etc.
To adhere to all company policies and procedures, prioritising child safeguarding.
To serve as a positive role model for children and young people, demonstrating values of respect, integrity, and empathy.
PERSONAL SPECIFICATION
Passionate about education and helping young people
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathise with, motivate, inspire and build a rapport with young learners.
Efficient time management, organisation and planning skills
Responsible, proactive and uses initiative
Proficient in creating written documentation, e.g. plans and reports.
Hardworking, flexible and adaptable to new situations
Able to communicate with a wide range of people including children, young people, parents, carers, teachers and senior leaders of schools
Able to give clear, tactful, positive advice and constructive criticism
Sensitive to the needs of diverse community groups in accordance with the guidance contained within the Diversity Policy.
A full, clean driving license
Able to undertake after-school and occasional Saturday sessions
Enthusiasm to learn and self-develop
