Overview


This is a school term-time only appointment (39 weeks per year), hourly wage plus holiday pay.

Job Summary


We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mentor providing mentoring and support to children, young people and adults. The ideal candidate will love working with nature and animals to play a crucial role in fostering personal growth and social development among clients. This position requires a commitment to nurturing relationships and empowering people to connect and build trust and positive relationships.

Duties



Establish trusting relationships with clients to create a supportive environment. Provide one-on-one mentoring sessions, working with nature and our therapy animals focusing on personal growth and individual development. Using active listening to understand clients and support their unique needs. Facilitate engaging activities within our comprehensive site on a farm, that builds confidence, skills and connection within our community. Collaborate with parents, teachers, colleagues and other stakeholders to support client's needs. Maintain accurate records of mentoring sessions and complete progress reports in the charity's online system. Complete all mandatory training, CPD and ongoing skills development to meet changing needs.

Preferable Skills



Previous experience working with adults, children or young people in an educational or recreational setting. Proven mentoring skills, demonstrating the ability to guide and inspire individuals. Background in youth work, understanding the challenges faced by young people today. A positive and can-do approach and work well in a team. Familiarity with special education practices is advantageous, enabling support for diverse learning needs.
