Are you an MEP BIM lead / Manager with 6+ years of MEP BIM experience looking for the next step in your career? Our client is a well established building services consultancy who specialise in quality and innovative projects within the built environment that has helped shape the city skyline over the last 20 years.
With clients in the UK, Europe and the Middle East they have a range of sectors including Commercial, Health care, Education and large scale Residential.

The Digital Design Manager will need to be a highly experienced individual with good, working knowledge of BIM level 2 compliance as well as UK industry BIM standards and workflows in a MEP environment.
The ideal candidate will have experience in delivering projects to comply with contractual BIM protocols and documentation such as Exchange Information Requirements (EIR), the BIM Execution Plan (BEP), a Master Information Delivery Plan (MIDP), and a Task Information Delivery Plan (TIDP), as well as liaising with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with all the above.

The Digital Design Manager must have strong, hands-on experience with various BIM authoring tools such as Autodesk Revit, and BIM coordination tools such as Autodesk Navisworks Manage, and Solibri. Good experience in AutoCAD, drawing output from Revit, and good 2D draftsmanship is also desirable.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing and commenting on scope, complexity and required efforts on new and upcoming projects (appointment docs, BEPs EIRs)
  • Producing dependency and delivery schedules with project leads (drawing list, markup required dates, outsource return dates)
  • Using above point to liaise with outsource company to get costs/efforts for projects and raising POs to suit
  • Leading weekly cad meeting to report on progress
  • Reviewing markups before sent to BIM lead or outsource
  • Guiding engineers on markup complexity and format, bearing in mind of how it is to be cadded
  • Initial project meetings, BIM meetings (weekly clash detection meetings can be handed to BIM leads once production starts)
  • Reviewing output quality on projects and signing off all drawings before issuing
  • Bringing up standard and policy issues in regard to drawings and BIM approach and proposing suggested changes to head of BIM
  • Responsible for Team BIM standards implementation, compliance checking, and quality assurance based on industry guidelines and frameworks defined by UK standards documents, including BS1192-4, BS EN ISO 19650, BS8541-1, the AEC (UK) BIM Protocols, as well as the company\'s standards and procedures
  • Identifies best practice based on processes outlined by organisation\'s such as CIBSE, BSRIA, CIC, CPIx, and the RIBA Plan of Work 2013.
  • Responsible for project EIR and BEP implementation and compliance
  • Has experience in delivering projects based on the Uniclass classification system
  • Troubleshooting basic problems in Revit and AutoCAD for the Team
  • Liaising with internal support staff and other support channels where applicable
Skills and Experience
  • Has a broad high-level production experience in BIM, MEP design and MEP drafting
  • Holds a formal MEP qualification or has relevant MEP experience
  • Possess an in-depth working knowledge BIM protocols and BIM implementation
  • Able to work within various CDE\'s
  • Experience with BIM data validation and verification
  • Ability to project manage BIM co-ordination on medium to large scale projects
  • Experience in BIM project protocol documents such BEPs, EIRs, TIDPs and the MIDPs (Master Information Delivery Plan)
  • A working knowledge of IFC file creation and management, as well as COBie
  • Has a good knowledge of UK BIM Standards and workflows and the ability to work with various stakeholders in order to ensure EIR, BEP, and BIM Level 2 compliance
  • An expert user of BIM authoring tools, especially Revit MEP
  • Experience with collaboration platforms such BIMcollab and BIMTrack is highly desirable
  • An expert user of BIM collaboration tools such as Navisworks Manage and Solibri
  • Be a power user of CAD applications, especially AutoCAD
  • Previous experience of Sustainable Design
  • Cost Estimating (5D) and Facilities Management (6D)
