About the role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a MEP Construction Manager to join our outstanding Major Projects team to work at our Old Oak Common development in London - join us and be part of the largest construction project in the UK.
HS2s new c. 1 billion Old Oak Common station will become the UKs best-connected rail station once completed. Our Balfour Beatty VINCI SYTRA joint venture will be responsible for the final design, construction, and commissioning of the station in Northwest London.
Upon completion, the new station will boast six underground platforms and up to eight platforms on the adjacent Great Western Main Line. Old Oak Common will also provide highspeed rail services to the Midlands, central London, Scotland, and the North, as well as direct services to three major airports. Incorporating passenger and retail facilities, the new station will provide an exceptional customer experience for both passengers and visitors to the station.
What you'll be doing
As part of the MEP services team which is a subset to the Construction team
at Old Oak Common, you will be reporting to the Senior Electrical Package
manager to support the interfacing between MEP sub-contractors and
HS2 and NR rail systems
Your role is to support the works to ensure interfacing, planning and detailed
delivery is aligned to ensure programme delivery.

Ensuring the scope of works are delivered to an exemplar standard in terms of Health and Safety, Quality, Environment & Sustainability.
Fostering an open, transparent and professional relationship with all
stakeholders and fulfilling the construction partner role to the satisfaction of
HS2.
Driving the construction programme and interfacing with other teams and
contractors Identifying threats and opportunities and regular monitoring of
progress and outputs.
Drive betterment in terms of ensuring daily visual management or lean
methods are used to monitor and improve upon project KPI's.
The Job currently has flexible working with a minimum of 3 days based on
site, and will include the following accountabilities:
+ Ensuring a safe, healthy, environmentally sound delivery of all worksentrusted.
+ Ensuring quality standards are met across works entrusted.
+ Ensuring there is an open, transparent and professional relationship with allstakeholders and in particular the Client, HS2.
+ Identifying threats and opportunities, raising early warnings andcompensation events in relation to the works entrusted.
+ Responsible for the monitoring and reporting of works entrusted.Demonstrate value for money and schedule performance in the delivery of
the works entrusted.
+ Managing site, controlling access of subcontractors and third-parties andhelping with the coordination of early works.
+ Managing all inductions and any briefings required. Including liaising withLogistics suppliers to ensure that all visitors have visitor inductions. Keeping
Who we're looking for
Completed an Electrical Apprenticeship and hold Level 3 Certification.
Sub-contract management experience
CSCS/ECS card
You must be a capable and confident communicator, comfortable working in an open, challenging, and collaborative environment.
You will demonstrate a passion for leaving a positive legacy in the communities we serve.
You must have experience of working in or around a rail environment. You will demonstrate capability and energy in bringing variety of different processes and workstreams together - design, consents, procurement - to ensure package delivery risk is minimised
