TruTrade is one of the fastest-growing digital platforms in the UK construction industry.
We help merchants win more quotes, boost conversions, and support builders with professional estimating, live pricing, and simple digital tools.
We are now expanding our merchant programme and need an experienced operator who can run our merchant support function, activate branches, and drive adoption -- without being a traditional rep.
The Role
This is a hybrid office-based role with occasional strategic field visits.
You will be the key link between TruTrade and selected merchant branches.
Office-Based Responsibilities (Core Focus)
Respond to merchant enquiries quickly and professionally
Support branches with quoting, orders, and platform usage
Handle calls, emails, follow-ups, and problem-solving
Build strong relationships with counter teams and branch managers
Monitor KPIs and track merchant activity and performance
Work closely with the estimating and leadership teams
Ensure merchants stay active, confident, and engaged with the platform
Strategic Field Visits (Purposeful, Not Random Repping)
Visit branches for onboarding, activation, or training
Set up POS displays, QR signage, and promotional materials
Run breakfast mornings or trade-counter demos
Support leadership during important merchant meetings
Visit new merchants during onboarding (outside restricted regions)
Attend merchant or builder events when required
This is targeted, high-value fieldwork -- not an old-fashioned rep role.
Experience Required
We are only looking for candidates with proven experience in the merchant or construction supply industry.
Essential:
Experience working in a builders merchant or construction supply environment
Strong knowledge of branch operations (counter, yard, sales, buying)
Clear communication skills and confidence dealing with trade customers
A problem-solver who works fast, stays organised, and replies quickly
Able to build relationships and support merchants professionally
Comfortable using digital tools and explaining them to others
Desirable:
Experience in branch sales, key accounts, trade counter, or ASM roles
Experience running trade mornings or in-branch activation
Existing relationships in the merchant sector
Prior experience onboarding new systems or platforms
We want someone experienced, proactive, reliable -- not a coaster.
