Job Description

STS 'Bespoke Handling Equipment Ltd.' is looking to hire a Metal Cutting and Finishing Operative to work in our factory. The role involves the cutting, folding, and drilling of metal prior to fabrication. In addition, you will get involved in various stainless steel metal finishing tasks, as well as on occasion the packaging of finished products ready for dispatch. This role would suit an active person who is looking for some variety in a hands-on position.

The ideal candidate will have some experience working in industrial environments and using power tools (i.e saws, drills, grinders, etc.). The right candidate must be happy to work hard in a hands-on mechanical environment and be able to listen and learn about work tasks.

Main tasks:

Cutting, drilling and shaping metal components prior to fabrication. Folding sheet metal using a three-axis CNC brake press (training provided). Bending stainless-steel tube using a CNC pipe bender (training provided). Carrying out stainless-steel metal finishing tasks using in-house tools and machinery; this includes TIG brush etching, aqua blasting, and vibratory rumbling. Sorting and booking in batches of laser-cut metal parts upon delivery.

Secondary tasks:

Packaging finished machines on wooden pallets including making wooden crates. Putting together sub-assemblies for use in the production of machines.

Key skills required:

Ability to listen and learn about new job tasks. High attention to detail in the finishing of components. Ability to perform consistently and to deadlines with the right attitude. Tidy, polite and professional approach to work.

Qualifications required:

Qualifications in mechanical fields are desirable but not required. Job-specific training will be provided by STS, but previous experience is desirable. Driving license required.

We manufacture in steel and stainless steel with lifting capacities ranging from 20kg to 2000kg.

Pay: 12.50-14.00 per hour
