Metal Polisher
Job Description
Hector Finch Lighting, one of the UK's leading high end lighting brands are seeking a skilled Metal Polisher to join our manufacturing/finishing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for polishing, buffing, and finishing brass components to a high standard, ensuring all items meet our expected quality standards. Experience working with brass and other non-ferrous metals is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
Polish, buff, and finish brass surfaces using hand tools, power tools, and polishing machinery.
Remove scratches, oxidation, tarnish, and surface imperfections from brass parts.
Operate polishing and buffing wheels, grinders, and sanding equipment safely.
Apply various polishing compounds to achieve desired surface finishes.
Inspect finished pieces for quality, consistency, and defects.
Maintain and clean tools and polishing equipment regularly.
Handle parts with care to avoid damage during the polishing process.
Follow health and safety standards and wear appropriate PPE.
Work collaboratively with production and finishing team to meet deadlines
Requirements:
Previous experience in metal polishing, especially brass, is preferred. Knowledge of different polishing techniques and tools. Good eye for detail and strong hand-eye coordination. Ability to follow technical instructions and finish specifications. Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods and lift medium-weight objects. Familiarity with workplace safety practices and PPE requirements.

Pay: From 12.21 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
