Are you an experienced Mental Health Practitioner with a background in working within a Mental Health Support Team (MHST) environment, looking to progress in your career into a senior role within an MHST?

With the launch of two further Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) in Peterborough and East Cambridgeshire in line with the NHS Long Term Plan, we are looking to recruit two more Senior Wellbeing Practitioners.

As a Senior Wellbeing Practitioner, the successful candidate will work closely with the MHST Clinical and Team Lead and Senior Clinicians, to ensure success of the MHST.

Main duties include:

Delivering evidence-based intervention for children and young people and their families in education setting with mild to moderate mental health problems. Provide case management and clinical supervision to EMHPs and Trainee EMHPs under the direction of the Senior Clinicians and both Clinical Leads



Offer evidence-based practice in guided self-help, CBT, child and adolescent mental health practice and Whole School Approaches to mental health



Clinically develop the provision of group work for children/young people and training for teaching staff, to include training and mentoring EMHP colleagues in order to improve the quality of the group work and training that we deliver



They will join a dynamic mental health team in a creative environment where evidence-based interventions, new ideas, ways of working and supporting children and young people are actively encouraged.



Furthermore, during the first year in post, the post holders will be attending the University of East Anglia's Supervisor course (likely to be a mixture of online and in person delivery).

In January 2020, Cambridgeshire Community Services (CCS) NHS Trust launched two MHST's in Huntingdon and Cambridge. A further ten MHST's have been launched since then, with two more planned, bringing our total to 14 MHST's by 2026. By 2030, all schools across England and Wales will have access to a MHST, as set out in the NHS Long Term Plan, therefore the successful candidates will be part of an exciting, expanding early intervention service.



The project is a collaboration with between NHS England, Health Education England and the Department for Education, following on from the 2017 Green Paper Transforming children and young people's mental health provision. This is a roll out of the work to improve access to mental health care for young people.



You will join a supportive service that will have 25 MHST's across Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and Norfolk, so a ready support system is available. The MHST's sit within CCS NHS Trusts Emotional Health and Wellbeing Service.



The successful candidate will provide case management and clinical supervision to Trainee EMHPs (EMHPs once qualified) under the direction of the Senior Clinicians and Clinical Lead.



They will manage a caseload and the provision of mental health care services to children and young people with mild to moderate mental health problems in education settings. They will also provide assessment and formulation of mental health difficulties in children and young people



Furthermore, the successful candidate will offer evidence-based practice in guided self-help, CBT, child and adolescent mental health practice and Whole School Approaches to mental health.



They will also clinically develop the provision of group work for children/young people and training for teaching staff, to include training and mentoring EMHP colleagues in order to improve the quality of the group work and training that we deliver.
