We are seeking two reliable, friendly and organised
Midday Supervisory Assistant (MDSA)
to support our learning provision during lunchtime. The role focuses on ensuring that lunchtime runs smoothly and safely for all learners. You will assist with the preparation, serving, and delivery of meals to classrooms, as well as contribute to maintaining a clean and safe environment. This is a vital role in supporting the wellbeing of our learners and ensuring that the afternoon sessions start efficiently and on time.
This is a term-time role working 10 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 11am to 1pm. We are looking for staff to work 39 weeks of the year - term-time only.
Responsibilities
Assist with dishing up, serving, and delivering lunches to classrooms.
Support learners in having a safe, positive and calm lunchtime experience.
Help with clearing away, washing up, and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area.
Monitor stock levels (cutlery, plates, cups, etc.) and report when items need replenishing.
Ensure all food hygiene and health & safety procedures are followed.
Prepare the learning environment for afternoon sessions (e.g., setting up tables, resources, or equipment as directed).
Work collaboratively with other staff to ensure smooth transitions between lunchtime and afternoon learning.
Report any concerns regarding learners' wellbeing to the appropriate staff member.
Qualifications
Proven experience in a similar role or educational setting is preferred.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
Friendly and approachable with good communication skills.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently when required.
Awareness of food hygiene and willingness to complete any necessary training.
Commitment to promoting a safe and inclusive environment for all learners.
A certificate in Level 3 Food Hygiene would be advantageous
