Job Description

H&H is offering a unique opportunity for a Mid-Level Structural Engineer to join our Emerging Markets team in our London Bridge area office. You will contribute to the design and analysis of movable bridges, heavy civil structural and fixed bridge and apply knowledge to structural analysis, 3D modeling and design calculations supporting both construction and rehabilitation projects.

Responsibilities



Perform structural design calculations for steel and reinforced concrete structures Assist in the inspection and assessment of bridges and other structures Prepare detailed plans and construction documents for assigned tasks Conduct quality calculations (quantity take-offs) for construction documents Assist in writing technical reports for design specifications Coordinate, track and assist in the review of contractor submittals Support project managers by researching design options and documenting findings Assist in the design of heavy movable structures such as movable bridges, travelers and roofs utilizing AutoCAD/Microstation & 3D Modeling software Support Structural Department with basic, general design calculations in addition to general support for the design and construction staff Field work accompanying other engineers to inspect structures

Technical Skills & Knowledge



Strong understanding of structural mechanics, material behavior and design codes Proficiency in structural analysis software such as SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, LUCAS, MIDAS to evaluate bridge and structural components Develop 3D models and technical drawings using AutoCAD, Revit or Tekla Knowledge of Eurocodes, British Standards and other relevant design codes Ability to perform hand calculations and computer-based structural analysis Experience working with steel and reinforced concrete structures is desirable

Key Competencies



Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Proficiency in MS office, including Excel for data analysis and reporting Strong organizational and time management skills

Requirements



Four to eight years of experience in a similar role Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering Experience in structural design and analysis, particularly with steel and concrete structures Exposure to bridge, transportation, or movable bridge projects is a plus Chartered status with ICE/IStructE is a plus Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team Willingness to learn and adapt to new engineering challenges Enthusiasm for structural engineering and a proactive approach to problem-solving

Competitive salary range of EUR45,000-EUR60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
