Role Summary



To carry out assembly/welding operations as directed by the Manufacturing Site Manager and Production Welding Team Leader.

The Production Welder Fabricator is key to ensuring the efficient and on time flow through of fabricated items to finished products/stock. Adhering to Quality Plan requirements and customer specifications.

Candidate Requirements:



A minimum of 3 years heavy structural steel welding and fabrication experience. A confident self-starter and technical welder who can interpret fabrication drawings, and weld and fabricate heavy gauge material without supervision. Ability to use pipe rollers and weld turntables. A genuine passion for aesthetics and quality finished products, understanding how it is a crucial part of ensuring on specification delivery to our customers. The ability to hit deadlines and achieve daily production schedules. Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to confidently and professionally communicate obstacles in order for the Operations Teams to overcome them. Must be able to work as part of a team in a fast paced environment, and be physically able to cope with typical factory duties including manual handling loads around 15 - 25kgs. Counterbalance Forklift Truck experience and/or a previous License is essential. Previous experience of being coded to BS EN ISO 9606 is highly desirable. A valid Counterbalance Forklift Operator License would be advantageous, but is not essential. A valid Overhead Gantry Crane Operator License would be advantageous, but is not essential.

Primary Responsibilities:



Read and work to technical fabrication drawings and specifications. Position and weld up any steel pipe, boss or plate, as indicated on the fabrication drawings and Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) - butt and fillet welds. Conducting visual quality inspections of welded components against quality requirements and specifications. Use of band saw, presses and other metalworking tooling and gas cutting equipment as required. Achieving fabrication timescales and production rates, whilst reducing re-work (right first time). Working with minimal supervision, displaying a strong pride in one's work and good eye to detail. Maintaining a safe, clean and organised working environment and tools, working to Company Quality, Safety and Environmental System requirements. Storing, handling and using all gas and chemicals in accordance with Safety Data Sheets, CoSHH and DSEAR Assessments. Reporting any concerns or anomalies to the Manufacturing Site Manager. Adhering to all Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Safe Systems of Work. Ad-hoc duties to assist the Manufacturing Site Manager, Production Welding Team Leader and Operations Director with the smooth running of the factory as required.

Role Specifics:



Availability: We are seeking 1x Production Welder Fabricator.

Location: Factory Based - Holton Heath Trading Park, Poole.

Salary: 29,120 - 33,280 Dependent on Experience (approx. 14.00 to 16.00 p/h DOE).

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 17:30. Friday 08:00 to 13:10 (total of 40 hours per week). Voluntary overtime available at overtime rates.

Holiday: 20 days pro-rata plus the Christmas Shutdown period and UK Bank Holidays.

This role is for an experienced Welder and Fabricator who can work with minimal supervision after initial product training. We are not considering applications for Weld Apprentices or Trainee's.
