Job Summary

Note: this position is for a 2 Month fixed term contract to assist with a heavy workload.

We are seeking a skilled

MIG Welder

to join our team. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in MIG welding and metal fabrication, with the ability to produce high-quality welds on mild steel. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining excellent quality and safety standards in all welding operations.

Responsibilities

Perform

MIG welding

on a variety of metal components, ensuring compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards. Prepare materials for welding, including cutting, grinding, and fitting metal parts. Inspect completed welds for accuracy, strength, and appearance, making adjustments as needed. Fabricate and assemble components and structures from sheet metal and other materials. Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to support welding and fabrication tasks. Maintain welding equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance. Adhere to all

health and safety regulations

, maintaining a clean and organized work area. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and continuously improve welding processes.

Skills and Qualifications

Proven experience in

MIG welding

within a fabrication or manufacturing environment. 2-3 years MIG welding experience is desirable. Strong understanding of

welding standards, joint preparation, and material properties

. Ability to

read and interpret technical drawings

accurately. Skilled in the safe use of hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment. Strong mechanical aptitude and keen attention to detail. Commitment to producing consistent, high-quality welds and maintaining high workmanship standards. Basic math and measurement skills for precise fabrication and assembly work.
