A well-established engineering and fabrication firm located in Middlesbrough, specializing in the oil and gas sector. The company provides high-quality pipework, structural fabrications, and custom-engineered solutions for major industrial clients.
Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced MIG/TIG Welder Fabricator with a background in oil and gas pipework. The successful candidate will be responsible for welding, fabricating, and assembling high-quality pipework and related structures in accordance with industry standards and client specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform MIG and TIG welding on various metals, primarily stainless steel and carbon steel.
- Fabricate and assemble pipework, supports, and structural components based on drawings and specifications.
- Conduct welding to coded standards (existing coding is desirable; testing can be arranged).
- Accurately interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and welding symbols.
- Operate workshop machinery, including saws, grinders, cutting equipment, and bending tools.
- Ensure all work adheres to strict quality, safety, and compliance standards.
- Work independently and collaboratively within a fabrication team to achieve production targets.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, following all HSE guidelines.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a MIG/TIG welder and fabricator, preferably in the oil & gas industry.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and pipework diagrams.
- Competency in fabricating from scratch.
- Strong understanding of welding procedures and standards.
- Coded welding qualifications are a plus but not mandatory (the company can assist with coding).
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Reliable, punctual, and capable of working effectively on day shifts.
