Our Ashton-in-Makerfield branch is currently seeking a skilled and reliable Mill Operative to support our external mill operations. This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced environment, contributing directly to the production and supply of timber products.
Key Responsibilities
Operate and maintain woodworking machinery including saws, moulders, planers, and CNC routers.
Accurately measure, cut, and shape timber components to specification.
Monitor equipment performance and carry out basic maintenance and troubleshooting.
Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company procedures.
Assist with loading and unloading materials, and help maintain an organised and efficient mill workspace.
What We're Looking For
Proven experience operating machinery in a timber or woodworking environment.
Solid understanding of wood types, machining processes, and tool handling.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Forklift licence or CNC experience is desirable but not essential.
