2Agriculture are offering an exciting opportunity for a Mill Technician to join the team at Bawsey Mill on a permanent basis. It is a fantastic time to join 2Agriculture and play a key role in realising our ambitious growth plans.
Role Profile
The Mill Technician carries out all aspects of the mill production system, ensuring all relevant Health & Safety and quality control procedures relating to the production of compound animal feed are adhered to. In addition, they conduct basic level routine maintenance and repair to ensure the effective operation of the mill production and intake systems in order to minimise downtime and deliver business objectives.
Your daily duties will include conducting stock takes and completing statutory records and production sheets, proactively seeking solutions where abnormalities occur, whilst carrying out the production of compound animal feed, ensuring you are maximising throughput and feed quality. This will involve operating heavy duty machinery, ensuring compliance with quality control and Health and Safety procedures at all times. Also include responding to breakdowns and production interruptions by performing reactive maintenance and repairs to production equipment, to minimise downtime and assist in the troubleshooting of potential issues. This will include helping maintain an effective PPM schedule, whilst carrying out 1st line maintenance as instructed on process equipment and plant in a safe and efficient manner, being aware of cost effectiveness & complying with all statutory requirements.
You will be required to operate in self-management teams and take responsibility for core decision making during day to day activities, leading and implementing key projects and initiatives as required in order to deliver business objectives. You will also consistently liaise with the Hygiene team to ensure environment is safe and clean to prevent a negative impact on quality standards. While driving continuous improvement, proactively reviewing current methodology and opportunities to improve the sites efficiency, safety, quality and performance.
Essential Skills and Experience Required
In order to be successful in this role you should have strong experience within a team-based manufacturing/production environment, working with strict safety and quality control procedures and KPI's. You will hold a minimum GCSE Level 4 or equivalent in Maths and English, preferably with a qualification/apprenticeship in a relevant field.
We are looking for someone who demonstrates an interest and understanding of others, adapting to the team and listening, consulting and communicating proactively and effectively. You should show a strong attention to detail whilst working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
