The Role
The postholder will be responsible for the safe and punctual collection of pupils from surrounding villages each morning and return journeys in the evening. The Minibus Driver plays a key part in ensuring pupils' safety and wellbeing during transport and acts as a visible and approachable representative of the School. This role requires an individual who is a confident and competent driver, punctual, responsible, and has a warm and professional manner.
20 hours per week, term time only:
Monday to Friday mornings: 7am - 9am and 5pm-7pm
Duties
? Operate School minibuses along designated routes to collect and return pupils safely and on time, during the week in the mornings and evenings.
? Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any issues promptly to the Transport Manager.
? Ensure pupils adhere to safety procedures while on board, including the use of seatbelts.
? Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the minibus.
? Attend scheduled training and staff meetings when required.
? Represent the School in a courteous and professional manner when dealing with pupils, parents, and staff.
? Additional hours for additional pay if transporting pupils for school trips.
Essential Competencies:
? Full UK driving licence with D1 entitlement obtained through passing the D1 driving test (Please note: Kingham Hill School cannot accept D1 (restricted) licences gained automatically before January 1997. Training to obtain a full D1 licence may be provided for suitable candidates, subject to a training cost repayment agreement over three years.)
? Confident and safe driving ability (to be assessed on site)
? Friendly, cheerful, and professional attitude.
? Patience and the ability to relate positively to young people.
? Punctual, dependable, and flexible approach to working hours.
? Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Competencies:
? Successful Completion of MiDAS minibus training course.
? Experience of driving a minibus or other large passenger vehicle.
? Previous commercial or school driving experience.
