Travel Co are a small family run business based in the Northwest that provide passenger transport for children and adults with special educational needs and disabilities.

The Job...

We're looking for a minibus driver to transport Adults in the Kirkby area to their Day Centres and back home. Our transport is needed Monday to Friday all year round (excluding Bank Holidays and Weekends) working approximately 2hrs a day (1hr in AM, 1hr in PM), totalling approx..10hrs per week.

You will be responsible for the transportation of the passenger from their home to the Day Centre of a morning and back again in the afternoon.

Passengers throughout their journey they must feel safe, secure, and enjoy their experience on the vehicle. All of them will be supported by the Passenger Assistant but you will need to assist with the wheelchair lift on the rear of the vehicle.

Pay will be 250 per week (50 per day) and training will be provided.

As the route will be in Kirkby, Liverpool, you must be in or nearby to the area or willing to commute to the vehicle within the Kirkby area. Please give your postcode when applying.

Dress Code...

You will be working in a minibus with moving parts, so something comfortable, secure and smart casual is ideal. We don't have a fixed dress code other than this because your ability to move round the vehicle safely in clothes you're comfortable in is most important to us. Anything more than smart casual (i.e. shirt and tie) would be inappropriate to wear with mechanical vehicle parts in operation.

What You Need...

Essential:

Reliability is crucial in this role as without a Driver the vehicle isn't able to operate, and passengers miss out on their transport needs. You must be able to ensure your availability during route hours.

You must also have a caring and thoughtful nature with patience and a good understanding for the passengers being transported. This should be evident in some of your previous work or life experience.

It is essential that you're willing to complete training to support you in your role with us and must already have your D/D1 driving entitlement and Driver CPC card for passenger transport. To hold D/D1 driving entitlements you must have passed driving exams in a bus or minibus, if you haven't then you don't hold the licence we need.

You must also be willing to have an Enhanced DBS check and Driver Licence report carried out.

In terms of experience, these points will put you above the rest...

- Driving passenger transport vehicles (16 seater minibus minimum)

- Transporting passengers with special educational needs

- Have used a wheelchair lift previously
