Lochinver House School is seeking a reliable, friendly and safety-minded Minibus Driver to join our supportive team. This is an important role that helps ensure our pupils start each day with a safe and welcoming journey to school. The Role
Reporting day-to-day to our Minibus Service Manager, you will operate one of the school's morning bus routes, collecting children from designated pick-up points and delivering them safely to school. You will also ensure the minibus is kept clean, well-maintained and ready for daily use.
As part of your duties, you will:
Drive one of the school's routes each morning, ensuring pupils are transported safely and punctually.
Maintain the minibus to a high standard, including weekly cleaning (inside and out), refuelling, and completing routine safety checks (tyres, lights, oil, water and fuel).
Ensure interior signs are secure and in good condition, reporting any issues immediately to the Site Manager.
Follow all school policies, particularly Health and Safety guidance for drivers.
Communicate courteously with parents when required.
Provide cover for other minibus drivers as needed.
Undertake any additional duties reasonably requested by your manager.

Essential requirements:
A current, clean and valid D1 unrestricted licence, PCV licence, or D1 restricted (car licence obtained before 1 January 1997).
Confidence in carrying out daily and weekly vehicle checks and basic maintenance.
Willingness to undertake a local authority driving test and enhanced DBS checks.
Experience, skills and attributes:
Experience driving a large vehicle.
A pleasant, patient and helpful manner.
Strong communication skills and the ability to interact warmly with pupils, parents and colleagues.
Ability to work independently, with reliability and integrity.
A flexible approach and sensitivity to the needs of service users.
Willingness to undertake training as required.
