, which brings together five GP practices serving over 60,000 patients: Bedwell Medical Centre, King George Surgery, Knebworth & Marymead, Shephall Health Centre, and Symonds Green Health Centre.
Our PCN model enables proactive, personalised, and coordinated care close to home. We work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, pharmacists, social care, hospitals, and voluntary services to improve patient outcomes and reduce health inequalities across our community.
Are you a confident and motivated healthcare professional who works well in a multi-disciplinary team environment? We are seeking a skilled Minor Illness Trained Independent Prescriber to join our supportive team and deliver high-quality, safe, patient-centred care.
About the Role:
As a Minor Illness Independent Prescriber, you will assess, diagnose, and manage patients presenting with a variety of minor illnesses across primary and urgent care settings. Your ability to prescribe independently will enable you to provide efficient and effective treatment, reducing waiting times and improving patient outcomes.
What You'll Do:
Conduct thorough clinical assessments and formulate management plans for patients with minor illnesses.
Prescribe medications safely and responsibly within your scope of practice.
Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, pharmacists, and other team members to deliver seamless care.
Provide health promotion advice and support patient self-care.
Maintain accurate clinical records and comply with all governance and regulatory standards.
What We're Looking For:
Registered healthcare professional (Nurse, Pharmacist, Paramedic, or other allied health professional) with a valid Independent Prescribing qualification.
Experience and training in minor illness assessment and management.
Strong clinical reasoning skills and sound knowledge of current prescribing guidelines (e.g., NICE).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well within a team and support fellow colleagues (clinical and non-clinical)
