Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Minor Works Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in assessing costs, preparing estimates, and ensuring accurate budgeting. This position requires strong commercial awareness and a thorough understanding of cost control measures to optimise profitability.

Duties

Prepare detailed cost estimates for Minor Works by from engineer reports, insurance reports, analysing specifications, and other relevant documents. Collaborate with engineers to gather necessary information for accurate estimations. Liaise with suppliers to identify correct parts at most cost effective prices Maintain comprehensive records of all estimates and related documentation. Monitor job costs throughout to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints. Identify potential risks and provide recommendations for cost control measures. Assist in the preparation of bids and proposals for new projects. Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and techniques to enhance estimating accuracy.

Qualifications

Desirable -Proven experience as an Estimator or in a similar role within the construction or lift industry. Strong understanding of cost control principles and practices - commercially aware Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and clients.
