Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Play Workers and play Leaders to join our team. As a Play Worker / leader, you will be responsible for creating a safe and engaging environment for children to play and learn. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and contribute to their development.
You will deliver a diverse seasonal play activity programme to school aged children across Milton Keynes. Sessions will be open air and open access. You will be required to take an active role within the delivery of activities with particular focus on participation and interaction.
About MKPA
Milton Keynes Play Association is a registered charity, we provide open access play events in Milton Keynes and surrounding areas. We partner with Parish & Town Councils providing exciting and imaginative fun events for under 16's.
Duties:
- Supervise and interact with children during events
- Plan and organize age-appropriate activities and games
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care
- To be proactive in offering ideas and initiating activities, whilst having an appreciation of the impact of adult intervention on children's freedom to choose and create their own play environment
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of play equipment
- Ensure parents & children's feedback is acted upon as and where appropriate
- Work as part of a team, ensuring a range of activities are delivered at all times, Supporting and assisting the Play leader to develop the activity programme
- To be respectful to children and members of the public at all times and represent the charity in a positive manner
- To undertake training relevant to the post
- To wear uniform provided at all times
- Candidates must be physically able to set up and maintain large play equipment, such as bouncy castles
Experience:
- Previous experience working with children in a similar role is preferred
- Ability to create a fun and inclusive environment for children
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
